PEDAGOGY
Bänana is a precise and demanding instructor regarding bondage technique. She considers that in order to tie well, we must understand each of our technical choices rather than learning the instructions by heart. She gives to her students a solid grounding so they can feel free while tying and put these technical abilities at the service of the relationship with their partners. Being in ropes is also something to be apprehended. Not that you have to behave in any particular way. On the contrary, every tied-up person has to find the way that pleases him or her. It’s also a long journey full of questions and emotions, and it seems important to Bänana that all this is taken into account during her courses. Bänana’s courses are so often highly interactive, with the idea that everyone should have a place to ask questions and express their experiences and feedback in order to grow together in this practice.
In Paris, you can learn shibari in a group class with Bänana or in a private lesson. If you’re a workshop organizer, you can contact Bänana to come and teach in your community in France or abroad. |
WELCOME TO LA CÄBANELa Cabäne is a small shibari space in the 19th arrondissement of Paris (Rosa Parks district). Its aim is to offer a space to explore the practice of shibari through teaching at different levels (group classes, private classes). This is a space that prioritizes queer and marginalized peoples. We are open to all but intolerance of any kind won’t be accepted. La Cabäne has just been born, created by Bänana. Its organization (teachers, planning, etc) and ambitions will evolve over time! PRIVATE CLASSES
Private courses are open to individuals of all levels who wish to have a customized learning program tailored to their needs and adapted to their learning pace. The program will be determined together before starting the course. Private courses with Bänana typically last from 2 to 6 hours per day. Just like group classes, it is essential that you come as a pair: Shibari courses are designed for both riggers and rope bottoms. For beginners or those practicing floor ties, we can lend you ropes if you do not have your own. The rate is €75/hour (including the remuneration for my partner). Additionally, I offer the possibility of organizing semi-private courses. You will need to form a small group of students with shared learning interests and contact me to discuss your idea. The rate will then be determined based on the number of students present. PRIVATE TRAINING
During the training, Bänana will not show you any exercises. You will decide with her what you wish to tie, and will agree together on the objectives of the session. The training can be adapted to your needs when you want to improve or refine bondages that you already know without fully mastering them. It can also be an opportunity to work more deeply on your gestures, aesthetics, or even freestyle bondage. The training can also help people in ropes who have difficulties feeling comfortable, for example, in a specific type of harness or bondage.
